If the symptoms keep returning, it may be time to work at the root.

Why the Pattern Keeps Returning

I’m Kumi. This is the work I care deeply about — helping people understand and shift the patterns beneath recurring anxiety.

Clinical hypnotherapy works beneath the symptom — not managing what surfaces, but addressing what's driving it. From my practice in Cairns, I work with adults in-person and online.

The people drawn to this work are often thoughtful, and self-aware. They understand their patterns — yet still find themselves caught in familiar emotional loops or repeating relationship dynamics.

From the outside, things look fine. Inside, the same pattern keeps running.

Insight alone does not always create change.

In this practice, we work at the level those patterns were formed — not to erase your past, but to help your nervous system recognise it no longer needs to remain in survival mode.

The process is structured and deliberate. You are not pushed beyond what your system can integrate, and you are never rushed toward insight you are not ready to hold.

The aim is change that feels steady, integrated, and sustainable.

This is where these patterns often show up — and where we can begin to work:

Anxiety & Emotional Regulation

Anxiety that keeps returning — even when you’ve tried coping strategies. Overthinking that doesn’t settle. A body that feels braced long after the moment has passed.

This work supports regulation at the root, helping your system feel safer rather than cycling between activation and shutdown.

Trauma & Emotional Imprints

You know the event is over — yet something in you still reacts as if it isn’t. Certain triggers feel disproportionate. Protection feels automatic.

We work gently with what remains stored in the system, allowing intensity to soften without forcing you to relive what you’re not ready to face.

Attachment &  Relationship Patterns

You give too much — or pull away too quickly. You fear abandonment — or feel safer relying only on yourself. The same dynamics repeat despite insight.

By working at the level these patterns formed, relationships can begin to feel steadier and less reactive.

Self-Worth & Inner Narrative

A quiet sense of “not enough.” Perfectionism that never quite rests. A persistent inner critic influencing decisions and connection.

This work supports rebuilding self-trust and reshaping that internal narrative from a steadier foundation.

Chronic Stress & Emotional Exhaustion

You function well — but feel depleted inside. Rest doesn’t fully restore you. Tension lingers beneath the surface.

Sessions focus on restoring regulation and capacity so energy feels more sustainable over time.

What Clients Say

Alexa Young, Auckland

"I'd spent years in therapy understanding where my anxiety came from. Working with Kumi was the first time something actually shifted beneath the understanding."

Ritu Arora, Online

"I came in sceptical. I left three sessions in wondering why I'd waited so long. The work is quiet but it's real."

Swathi, Cairns

"She doesn't rush you. She doesn't push. But somehow things move. I feel steadier in a way I can't fully explain — which is probably the point."

How We Work

The Process

01 — Initial Consultation A 15-minute conversation to understand what's brought you here and whether this approach is a good fit. Complimentary. No obligation.

02 — First Session We build the foundation — mapping the pattern, its origins, and what your system needs in order to feel safe enough to shift. Sessions run 60–90 minutes.

03 — Ongoing Work Most clients work across a series of sessions, typically fortnightly. The pace is shaped by what your system can integrate — not a fixed schedule. We review progress regularly so you always know where we are and where we're headed.

Change at this level is rarely linear. It tends to deepen over time.
